Summer is flying away, but that doesn’t mean the fun is almost over!

Each week more events are announced, bringing the audience together to celebrate music, food and more.

This weekend, get out there and enjoy in-person sporting events (finally!), Farmer’s markets and art in the sunny August sun.

Here are 16 things to do in and around Victoria this weekend, August 6-8:

Catch a VIBHL Playoff Championship match

Over the past year, many people have gone missing to attend sporting events in person. The Vancouver Island Ball Hockey League (VIBHL) began at the start of the pandemic. Since then the league has grown to 16 teams, 4 divisions and there is even a waiting list for teams to join!

This Friday, the league kicks off the championship rounds and the public can watch the games in person!

Downtown summer market

Visit Uptown Boulevard this weekend for their annual Uptown Summer Market. Vendors will line the boulevard for a fun afternoon of outdoor shopping!

Esquimalt Urban Art Tour

This weekend, get the family out to explore Esquimalt’s interactive street art tour. The visit is self-guided, using a map of artwork in four neighborhoods. The tour includes Urban Farms and Esquimalt Gardens showcasing local artwork.

Watch a movie at the drive-in!

No, you have not been transported in time, it is very real! Legacy Drive-In has announced the hours for its open-air theater at Westshore Motorsports Park.

This weekend, learn about Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Mission: Impossible, and Downsizing from the comfort of your car while enjoying food in Cie Burger Westshore

Watch a flight over the Royal Canadian Air Force

On Sunday, watch a Royal Canadian Air Force helicopter fly over the BC Aviation Museum at Victoria Airport as a monument is unveiled in honor of Lieutenant Gray.

Sidney Street Market

Admire the view of the Malahat Skywalk

The Malahat Skywalk is open and they saw over 5,000 visitors on their first weekend!

The attraction features an observation deck 250 meters above sea level, a cafe, shops, and an elevated 600-meter TreeWalk and nature trail.

The Skywalk offers panoramic views of Mt. Baker, Finlayson Arm, the Saanich Peninsula and the islands of two countries.

Visit the animals at Beacon Hill Children’s Farm

After a long hiatus due to COVID-19, the Beacon Hill Children’s Farm has reopened for the summer.

COVID-19 security protocols are in place and the farm will not be visible until then. The daily public stampede of the goats will not take place either.

On a local subreddit, r / VictoriaBC, user fyrite asked the audience to share their favorite local foods, the must-haves, the ones people can’t live without.

Victoria delivered, and over 300 recommendations were posted on the thread.

Fyrite took the recommendations and created a mass spreadsheet and map to allow suggestions to be easily accessible and appreciated by all!
