A church in the village of Melbourne, Derbyshire, has now been transformed into a beautiful AirBnB getaway.

From the outside it looks like any church in the British countryside.

But step through the wooden doors that have been around since the mid-1800s, and guests will discover a beautiful, modern interior.

Five people can stay in the property at any time, and they will have access to an open plan kitchen and dining area, two lovely bedrooms up a spiral staircase, and a fully equipped bathroom with a modern shower, a bath and toilet.

There is also a lovely garden at the back, with airlines and Love Island style chairs if you want to bring someone along for a chat.

Each room offers a magnificent view of the village and features exposed wooden beams that will remind all guests of the rich history of the building.

AirBnB host Victoria, who completely remodeled the interior to what it is today, purchased the church in March.

The church has existed since the reign of Queen Victoria and was converted into a residential space in the 1980s – the couple who bought it lived there for over 30 years until they decided to sell it this year.

The church is located in the center of Melbourne village, within walking distance of some great shops, cafes and bars.

The surroundings are full of scenic walks or you can just relax on the sofa in front of the electric fireplace.

Any pet owner looking for a getaway will not be disappointed to learn that pets are welcome in the church as the building is in a fully gated area and the Peak District is not only a short drive away so your puppies can run free.

The church has only been available for rent on AirBnB for a few weeks, but has already received a number of booking requests, earning the host a rating of five out of five.

One review said, “What a characterful place to stay!”

Another wrote: “This place is perfect for a relaxing weekend. The house is so comfortable, stylish and warm.

Anyone looking to stay in the UK while traveling abroad remains difficult and expensive should definitely check out this AirBnB – when else could you sleep in a church?
