210 Bradford St. in Provincetown on sale for $3.695 million
The house at 210 Bradford St. is a Provincetown dream.
Built in 1880, this funky Victorian gem features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, original wide-plank floors, and towering 11-foot ceilings. This home combines the best of antique and modern worlds, with modern luxuries like air conditioning and heat control in every room and an outdoor hot tub, while retaining much of the home’s antique charms.
210 Bradford Street, listed for $3.695 million, boasts many rare sought-after commodities for a Cape Cod home, including a beautiful suite with its own kitchenette, private balconies, art studio and breakfast nook, all while being within one block from the beach and a few minutes walk from downtown.
Listing Agent Steven Azar of Real Estate Blue Door described this house not only as a unique property in itself, but also as unique in Cape Town.
“The rooms are arranged in such a way that there is a lot of intimate space, but there is also a lot of flexibility in the layout,” he said. “She’s known all over Provincetown. She is truly a home.
Provincetown residents and visitors may know the house as the Clandestine pensiona bed-and-breakfast that Azar has run since moving to Provincetown full-time in 2019.
He has since purchased land in Costa Rica and plans to develop a wellness center there, making the difficult decision to put the house on the market.
“It’s a tough sell,” he said. “It’s certainly bittersweet, but my next chapters are unfolding and I’m just testing the waters to see who would be the right buyer.”
Guesthouses are not just a declining business on the Cape, driven by competition and the relative ease of Airbnb, but an important cultural space where people can gather and enjoy the beauty of Cape Cod, according to Azar.
Stowaway Guesthouse will remain open for at least the 2022 summer season, and Azar said they are nearly full for June, July and August.
“I’m definitely not going to give it away, I’m not going to be polished and obscured,” he said. “It has to be the right buyer.”
Most guesthouses, especially in Cape Town, start out as large houses turned guesthouses, and 210 Bradford St. is no different.

Because it sits on the small end of the large house spectrum, Azar classified the house as a home rather than a bed and breakfast business.
“If the new owners want to make it a business, they can, but if they want it to be their home, they can do that too,” he said.
Azar lived in the house full-time while running Stowaway, and the privacy he enjoyed living in a shared space speaks to the ideal and flexible layout of the house.
“I live here year-round and rent spaces to people, but I don’t even know they’re there,” he said. “It’s a very flexible house. I might even see someone who has their own practice outside the house doing this.

For Azar, the property’s outdoor space is one of its best amenities.
“The backyard is very private and is kind of an oasis with the hot tub and sauna,” he said. “The location is perfect as it’s set back a bit so you have lots of privacy, but it’s also a short walk to the beach. There could be more space outside than inside.
But above all, the spirit of the house is what sets 210 Bradford St. apart.
“She definitely has a spirit. When we throw parties or have people over, she just shines,” he said. “When people go in, they expire. It’s not a normal house, it’s just special.
