5 Valentine’s Day getaways within three hours of Vancouver
February 14 is fast approaching and this could be the perfect excuse to take a quick, last-minute trip with your loved one to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Whether you’re going on a day trip, an overnight trip, or a few days, breaking out of your usual routine is great for creating lasting memories together. The places on this list may be familiar to you, but take a fresh look because there is so much more to see here than you could discover in a lifetime.
1. whistler
Where to stay: If you want to splash around, stay at Four Seasons Whistler Hotel or the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. It can cost a small fortune to stay in Whistler, so staying in Squamish or just taking a day trip is also a cheaper alternative.

2. Bowen Island
Where to stay: Bowen Island is quite small, but there are a handful of cute places to stay like at Alderwood Farm.
What to do: After exploring the city, you can hike or kayak to feel a world away from Vancouver, even though you’re less than an hour away.
Where to eat: As soon as you get to Bowen Island from the ferry there are a ton of places to eat. further inland, Meadowbrook Market is a hidden gem where you can stock up on supplies and tasty takeaways.
3. Harrisson
Where to stay: The Lodge on Harrison Lake has great water views and it’s close to town but still quite private.
What to do: Spend the day strolling the waterfront enjoying lake views, taking a quick waterfall hike, or visiting the Tourist information centre to learn more about local bigfoot traditions.
Where to eat: Release some local beers from Old Settlers Pub and order a plate of Neptune Mushrooms for the table. Throw yourself into the wooden chalet-style restaurant or relax on their terrace by the water.
4. Seattle
Where to stay: You could stay in one of the fashionable hotels CitizenM Hotels in Seattle or find an Airbnb nearby for a longer stay.
