9 of the most “wanted” Airbnbs to book for your summer stay

Are you planning to go on vacation this summer? With the lockdown restrictions gradually easing, booking a home away from home can be a smart move for vacationers.

But where to go first? Airbnb has just revealed the UK’s Most ‘Wanted’ Homes, offering a wealth of vacation inspiration with incredible properties available from Cumbria to Cornwall. This is our selection of the harvest …

1. The pigsty, Winchester

Set on a working farm (but tucked away in a secluded location), this luxury adults-only hideaway is ideal for a romantic countryside getaway. With a king size bed, a claw-foot tub and a wooden deck from which to watch the sunset, in this cozy hole you’ll be happier than a pig in the mud.

2. The Willow, Pembrokeshire

With its distinctive curved design, private hot tub, and sweeping views of the Welsh countryside, this farm property is described as ‘the ultimate in glamping’, but there are no tents involved. With a double bed and two single beds, the elegantly decorated space is perfect for a family getaway.

3. Traditional log cabin on the lake, Kent

Perched on the edge of a serene lake just a 10-minute drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells, this waterfront lodge is an oasis of calm. Soak up the sun on the south-facing patio, fire up the barbecue to enjoy an al fresco meal, then retreat to your comfortable cabin (and king bed) for a restful night’s sleep.

4. Cabin in the Undercover Woods, West Sussex

Take on the trees with this elevated glamping experience. Housed in an old oak tree in the forest of West Sussex, the treehouse can accommodate two people (in a real double bed) and is heated with an indoor fireplace, as well as an outdoor fireplace for cooking under the stars. Guests also have access to a wood-fired hot tub on site.

5. Sunset Beach Cabin, Cumbria

This self-proclaimed “little house” is a little delight overlooking the Cumbrian coast. Seating up to four people, the cabin has its own sunken hot tub with steps descending from the deck directly onto a scenic pebble beach.

6. Toad Hall Luxury Lodge, Norfolk

Floor-to-ceiling bay windows make this treehouse-style lodge light and bright while offering wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. With a private hot tub, underfloor heating, modern kitchen and two double bedrooms, this is a wonderfully luxurious rural retreat.

7. Airship 001, Sussex

A fabulously eccentric accommodation concept, this wonder of the woods sees guests board an aluminum capsule inspired by an airship. Heated with a wood-burning stove, the cute and cozy space can accommodate up to three people, has an open-plan kitchen, a wooden deck to one side and panoramic windows at each end letting in plenty of natural light. .

8. The Scandinavian Den Hut, Cumbria

Embrace the ‘hygge’ lifestyle at this charming Scandinavian-style property set at the back of a large family garden in the Lake District. With a barbecue in the center of the wooden cabin, which can accommodate two people, this is the perfect place to eat, drink and have fun.

9. On weekends, Cornwall

Fancy exploring the beautiful North Cornish coast? The Weekender is a fantastic base for embarking on cliff top walks and taking in the sea views from the cottage’s sun terrace. Bright and spacious with modern decoration, it can accommodate two people, with the possibility of an additional single bed.
