Ace Hotel was refused offer to continue managing the Pittsburgh building

Law360 (July 15, 2021, 2:25 p.m. EDT) – A Pennsylvania state judge rejected Ace Hotel Group’s offer to remain in charge of a closed hotel in Pittsburgh‘s East Liberty neighborhood, leading the way when the building reopens under different management.

Allegheny County Common Plea Court Judge Christine Ward rejected the hotelier’s offer of an emergency injunction in a barely one-time order issued Wednesday. Ace had sought to get the owner of the Y Hotel LP building to recognize Ace as the manager of the property – and prevent the owner from reopening without him by booking rooms through Airbnb.
