Agenda of the new Short Stay Summit [14 September] unveiled

United Kingdom: The agenda for the new Short Stay Summit, the European conference for the short-term and vacation rental industry, has been announced.

The event, to be held on Tuesday September 14, 2021 at the Tobacco Dock in London, was organized by the European Holiday Home Association [EHHA], the British short-stay accommodation association [STAA] and the Vacation Rental Management Association [VRMA], and will be the largest European conference the industry has seen since 2019.

The Short stay summit will provide a platform for operators in the UK and Europe to meet for the first time in 18 months. This is a one-day event featuring a dynamic mix of keynote speeches and fireside discussions with top industry leaders, workshops, panel discussions, and plenty of opportunities to networking.

Some of the main topics covered will be:

  • How short-term rentals are changing the landscape of the real estate industry
  • How to get the right mix of marketing channels
  • How technology is fueling the future of the short-term rental industry
  • How the industry could consolidate … or fragment
  • How regulation could impact the industry
  • How to build a more sustainable business

The full agenda is now available at Short Stays Summit website.

There will also be over 30 sponsors and exhibitors from leading industry suppliers, giving delegates their first chance in 18 months to discuss and see new products and services face to face.

Trusted Stays is the official accommodation partner offering delegates the option to book short term rentals while visiting the show.

In addition to networking opportunities throughout the day at lunch and during breaks between sessions, Marriott Homes & Villas is sponsoring an aperitif starting at 6 p.m. which will be a great time for delegates to discuss and debate the program of the daytime.

The title sponsor of the event is Vrbo, which is part of the Expedia group, the Platinum sponsor is Booking.com and the Gold sponsors are Homes & Villas by Marriott International and Sykes Holiday Cottages. The Silver sponsors are Awaze, Rentals United and Beyond.

ShortTermRentalz is the Official Media Partner of the Short Stay Summit, and Editor-in-Chief Paul Stevens will host two sessions that day.

Merilee Karr, President of STAA and CEO of UnderTheDoormat, said: “As an industry, we have worked closely together to put together a truly fantastic program that will provide delegates with enormous opportunities to develop their thinking and to make new contacts. We have a lot to celebrate in our industry as we emerge from the impacts of the pandemic stronger than ever.

“Everyone I have spoken to and who is attending is incredibly excited about this event and looking forward to meeting each other,” she added.

Tobacco Dock was chosen as the venue because its character reflects the modern and entrepreneurial spirit of the industry. It also has sufficient outdoor space and well-ventilated areas to ensure that all delegates can comply with Covid-related guidelines.

Tobacco Dock will also be the location of the International Hospitality Media’s [IHM] inaugural Urban Life Festival October 26-27, 2021.
