Airbnb and Caribbean Tourism Organization Collaborate to Promote Travel in 2021: Travel Weekly

Airbnb has launched a partnership with the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) which offers a marketing campaign showcasing Airbnb properties in 18 CTO member countries.

The campaign will include a series of email newsletters and a landing page on Airbnb website with descriptions and rates per night in Airbnb houses, cottages, apartments, villas, inns and condominiums in each of the 18 islands.

Each country listing will include the destination health and safety protocols as well as a link to the country’s tourism website.

In return, Airbnb will share data with the CTO, including travel trends that would help the CTO shape their marketing plans during the Covid recovery period.

“As the Caribbean continues to reopen, we are helping usher in the safe return of travel to this region by highlighting the many places to see and things to do,” said Carlos Munoz, Airbnb Policy Officer for Central America and the Caribbean.

“We are delighted to promote the significant economic impact generated by hosting on Airbnb,” he said.

The partnership is one of the initiatives in the CTO’s ongoing program to help its members rebuild tourism in their destinations, according to Neil Walters, its acting secretary general.

The Airbnb partnership “will provide our members with a platform to showcase their destinations while highlighting the health and safety measures each has implemented to ensure our visitors have a safe Caribbean experience during this time,” said Walters.
