Airbnb bans overnight bookings at Central Florida properties before Halloween weekend – Central Florida News

Airbnb in Central Florida will ban overnight bookings for guests before Halloween weekend to reduce unauthorized parties.

The exception to this rule is for customers who have received positive reviews of multiple stays at Airbnb properties.

Spokesman Ben Breit said unauthorized parties can not only lead to property damage, but they can also help spread COVID-19.

β€œThere is nothing good about an unauthorized party. It’s bad for this host, it’s bad for the neighbors. Bad for Airbnb, right? No one wants this to happen.

Breit says more than 2,000 people were barred from booking properties this past Halloween in Orlando and Kissimmee due to a poor record with the company.

He says the company is not worried about losing those reservations.

β€œI don’t know about this if it will hurt business. We just think it’s the right thing to do. So we’re really going to continue to focus on trust and security and the rest will sort of work out. “

Masks and social distancing are no longer needed at Airbnb properties in Central Florida, as Orange County’s state of emergency was lifted today.
