Figures come from new booking data from Airbnb for workits business travel portal which lists accommodations for professionals, as well as team building activities and meeting spaces around the world.

When it comes to remote work, European cities remain popular, but more distant countries are also seeing an influx of digital nomads from the UK.

Bogotá in Colombia tops the list as the fastest growing city in popularity, seeing a 196% increase between October 2018 and October 2019 (compared to October 2017 to October 2018) among Brits booking a holiday business. The cosmopolitan city is quickly becoming one of the liveliest destinations in Latin America.

Istanbul, meanwhile, ranks second with a 193% increase in Airbnb for Work stays for the same period. Straddling East and West, the Turkish city has long been popular with tourists, but its cuisine, architecture and history also have broad appeal for remote workers.

Bratislava, Slovakia is in third place. Its compact size, ease of access and growing reputation as a hub for tech talent and start-ups have led to a 187% increase in the number of business travelers.

Málaga comes in fourth, thanks in part to the recent growth of coworking spaces and high-speed internet. The Spanish city has seen a 174% increase in the number of British professionals working abroad.

Fifth is Lima, one of the most remote destinations on the list. The Peruvian capital has seen a 168% increase in the number of business travellers, some of whom come for its annual venture capital conference – an opportunity to connect with local start-ups and local and international investors.

Spain appears on the list again in sixth place, this time with Marbella, a small town in the south of the country which enjoys 320 days of sunshine a year. Sun-seeking telecommuters who come here have increased by 162%.

Nuremberg, Germany came in seventh with a 160% increase. Located in the heart of Europe, the city offers great accessibility for international companies looking to bring together employees from around the world.

In eighth place is Venice, one of Europe’s most popular tourist spots and now, with a 160% increase in Airbnb for Work stays, a popular destination for remote work.

On the other side of the Atlantic, San Jose (Silicon Valley) in the United States ranks ninth, with a 159% increase. The city is home to around 6,600 tech companies and the Tech Museum of Innovation, making it an attractive location for start-ups.

In tenth position, Antibes recorded a 155% increase in the number of business visitors, while in 11th place is Krakow, with a 153% increase.

The list is completed by Miami, which seems well on its way to becoming one of the largest international business centers in the world. The city was recently ranked among the best for work-life balance, and rumor has it: the city saw a 151% increase in Airbnb for Work stays between fall 2018 and 2019.
