Airbnb guests can stay in a helicopter that flew over Afghanistan
AIRBNB guests can stay overnight in a helicopter that has flown over Afghanistan.
The decommissioned Lynx costs £ 58 a night.
The old army helicopter has a sofa bed, a TV, underfloor heating and a terrace.
The website says: “The helicopter is in the former RAF Wainfleet base.
“It has a sofa that converts into a bed, a TV, underfloor heating and a terrace.
“Separate kitchen and bathroom are nearby. This is a unique opportunity to camp in a former Army Westland Lynx helicopter that served in Afghanistan.
“A small and comfortable space for two. If you like camping and small spaces and are looking for an unusual place to stay, our helipod ticks all the boxes.
“There is an outdoor terrace to relax in during the summer.”
It is kept in the former RAF Wainfleet, Lincs, where up to six holidaymakers at a time can also stay in the former control tower for £ 206.
The base was last used by the RAF in 2009.
