SAN FRANCISCO (KRON/ NEXSTAR) – Get your Jiffy Pop ready.
In October, Airbnb is offering horror fans a chance to stay in the house featured in the 1996 movie “Scream” – and for just $ 5 a night.
The house, located in Marin County, Calif., Is reportedly ready to be explored in “all of its original splendor,” with Ghostface’s knife marks on the doors, according to Airbnb. Once guests have toured the estate, they can also settle in for a marathon of VHS movies of the “Scream” movies, plus any “90s classic snacks” they can handle – Jiffy Pop included.
Airbnb said one of the phones in the house is also a direct line to Ghostface itself, although it can also ring with a cryptic call from the killer (s).
The house will only be available for three overnight stays, on October 27, 29 and 31, for a maximum of four people per night. Fans can request to reserve the house via Airbnb starting Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. ET.
Those lucky enough to secure a reservation will start their evening with a virtual recording with Sheriff Dewey Riley – played, as always, by David Arquette – who will offer a few words of warning before the evening.
“As the host, I will keep a watchful eye on the guests to make sure no one is surprised by an unexpected plot twist,” read a statement attributed to Dewey in the press release from Airbnb. “Believe me, horror movies always keep him interesting, for better or for worse…”
If visitors survive the night, they could return home with unique “Scream” merchandise, such as a DVD bundle, “Woodsboro High School” fiction material, and posters for the upcoming “Scream” sequel scheduled for release. 2022.
