Airbnb launches program for people to spend a year traveling for free and live like digital nomads

Airbnb has opened applications for a new program that gives attendees the option of free travel for almost an entire year.

The program will enable successful applicants to live in various locations around the world as digital nomads.

Entitled “Live Anywhere”, the project will select only 12 people to participate, but each can take up to three companions for the ride.

The program will run from September 2021 to August 2022, with Airbnb providing listing suggestions, accommodation credits, travel allowance, and local experiences.

In return, participants will have to report their experience to the home sharing platform.

Airbnb is looking for ways to improve its offering for digital nomads, who want longer stays to make working remotely easier.

He asks applicants to be “comfortable documenting their experience each week and sharing that experience with Airbnb in order to potentially indicate how the company can better improve their product for a flexible, long-term life.”

Applications are open on the company’s website until June 30 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside in one of the following countries: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada (outside the province of Quebec), Chile, Mainland China, Denmark, Dubai, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Kingdom -United or United States.

They must also have a conversational level of English, as well as a passport valid until at least February 1, 2023.
