Retired Birmingham police officer talks job safety details for Alabama coach Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Larry Dunn could be seen on the sidelines of the Iron Bowl games working for legendary Alabama football coach Paul Bear Bryant. In the video above, Jon Paepcke of WVTM 13 speaks with the retired Birmingham police officer. who fondly remembers the years he spent protecting “The Bear”. During his career in Alabama, Coach Bryant racked up 19 wins and six losses against the Tigers. He also had a nine-game winning streak in the Iron Bowl from 1973 to 1981.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Larry Dunn could be seen on the sidelines of Iron Bowl games, working as a security guard for legendary Alabama football coach Paul Bear Bryant.
