Airbnb experiences can’t always be compared to each other because every living space is different from the next in terms of size, location, vibe, and overall feel.

Many would even say that life on Airbnb is more appealing than a boring stay in a hotel room.

The purpose of booking an Airbnb is to have a safe and comfortable private stay with the availability of basic amenities like food, water, and electricity.

However, many bizarre and shocking Airbnb experiences are surfacing on social media almost every day. While most of them are easily overlooked, some are just too weird and outlandish to ignore.

An Airbnb host has been heavily criticized online for charging almost £60 (Rs 5,800) per night for a tent in his concrete garden.

The listing, which shows a two-person tent in Dublin, Ireland, left social media users completely baffled.

The most outrageous part is that the tent was placed in a concrete garden.

According to reports, the listing was initially priced at €69 (£58). After Twitter user Aimee shared the shocking discovery online, it quickly went viral and outraged netizens.

Aimee confirmed the listing was no joke by personally contacting the tenant for clarification.

“It’s not a joke. However, you may prefer a comfortable sofa in the living room. I have a very large living room for this and several sofas. And it is also listed,” the tenant replied to the Aimee question online.

Following huge online outrage, Aimee said the listing was removed from the Airbnb app and website.

In 2020, three YouTube pranksters created what was called the “world’s worst Airbnb” with a mattress, pillows, sheets, bedside table and lamp. The “living room” was installed in the middle of a field in North London.

Rhys Simmons, Jamie Kamaz and Hitchin – cloggers who run the “Passion Squad” channel on YouTube – created the list for their installation. Shortly after installation, pranksters were amazed that people actually started booking the stay.
