Exercise for free

Every morning from Monday to Saturday, citizens can exercise at the premises of the Pan-Hellenic Gymnastics Association in Pedion for Areos. There they can choose to participate in 8 different activities and courses:

  1. Gymnastics for adults
  2. Special fitness programs for seniors
  3. Swimming lessons
  4. Pilates
  5. Yoga
  6. Martial arts and self-defense
  7. Fencing
  8. Table tennis

To take advantage of this new opportunity, citizens must first register at the association’s headquarters in Kypseli. After that they can receive a membership card which will allow them to enter and use the facilities free of charge. To go further, those interested in attending the courses should also express their interest and reserve your place online Going through rantevou.cityofathens.gr.

All citizens deserve to have access to sport

In a press release, the Mayor of Athens Kostas Bakoyannis commented on the initiative, noting that all citizens should have access to facilities that allow them to take care of their health and well-being. In addition, he stressed the importance of investing in sport:

“We continue to invest in improving the quality of life of Athenians by taking dynamic initiatives in the field of sport, with free programs for all adults. Sport in everyday life is associated with health and well-being, which is why in the Municipality of Athens we believe that all citizens, regardless of their income, should have free access to it. We warmly thank the historic gymnastics association of our city, the Panhellenic, for this creative and precious collaboration.

Before using the association’s facilities, you must present proof of vaccination, recovery from COVID or a negative test.
