BBQ friends, save the date for this event in Davenport this fall.
Bar-B-QC will be a barbecue competition taking place in Davenport in September. It’s a fundraiser for Jaycees of the Quad Cities.
Bar-B-QC will be at LeClaire Park on September 9 and 10. There will be beer, music and of course barbecue. But you can’t forget about the stakes at hand. This is a KCBS-sanctioned backyard barbecue contest, with the winners to be announced on Saturday.

Admission will be $5 at the door, with money going directly to the community throughout the year, according to the Jaycees. Eventbrite listing for Bar-B-QC.
This Friday and Saturday, the festival will last from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Hopefully downtown Davenport smells like smoky barbecue.
Consider the gauntlet thrown down. You can still participate in the competition if you wish but here is the list, from now on.
That’s a total purse of $7,500 up for grabs. First places in pork ribs, chicken and pork will each receive $1,200. 2nd place winners will receive $800 and 3rd place winners will receive $500.
