Birmingham has some of the best private schools in Alabama, according to Niche

(NEXSTAR) – Niche released its ranking of the best private schools for 2022, and several of Alabama’s top private institutions are right here in central Alabama.

Niche, a platform to “connect students and families with colleges and schools,” said it combines assessments directly from current students, alumni and parents, with more quantitative data from sources such as the US Department of Education to assess teachers; resources and facilities; extracurricular activities and more.

The company also prides itself on not sticking strictly to standardized test scores and academic performance, which may not reflect socio-economic and racial disparities or unique school policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. For 2022, Niche reduced the SAT and ACT scores by a third.
