Blackpool v West Brom line-up predicts tough changes to legislate after Coventry win

Michael Appleton will have a difficult task on his hands if he wants to make any changes against West Brom.

The sailors were excellent in their last outing against Coventry City, but a quick turnaround in games will mean fatigue is likely to play a part as the team continue to progress until the World Cup break. Shayne Lavery returns from his three-match ban to add some additional potential firepower to the squad, but given the level of performance last time out, it’s hard to make anyone lose their spot.

With Liam Bridcutt still injured, Kenny Dougall will no doubt continue in the midfield role. Further forward in the two advanced midfield positions, Callum Wright will be pushing for a departure, but Sonny Carey and Charlie Patino have been impressive at CBS Arena and would no doubt like to build on their momentum in those roles.

Theo Corbeanu is another who will push to start in the wide areas, especially with a World Cup berth for Canada on the line in the coming weeks, but CJ Hamilton, Jerry Yates and Gary Madine have been a key trio for Blackpool’s recent performance levels. Madine has been managed lately, so potentially he could be rested here.

James Husband was another top performer last time out, but he’s also returned from injury and it might be too quick a turnaround to play back-to-back games. Dom Thompson will no doubt be keen to come back and impress after a tough time, but if Husband can start and be substituted later that would be a more fitting proposition.

Predicted Blackpool XI: Maxwell; Connolly, Ekpiteta, Thorniley, husband; Dougall, Carey, Patino; Yates, Madine, Hamilton
