Camp Bestival has a “robust” plan to avoid disruption

Much of the hospitality industry has been hit by the ‘pingemia’ as staff are asked to self-isolate by the NHS Test and Trace system, resulting in labor shortages.

However, while other festivals fear being canceled due to similar issues, Camp Bestival told Echo they have a plan in place to avoid any major issues.

A spokesperson for the event said: “The Camp Bestival event team has been working with public health and local authorities for the past year and has put in place a solid plan that will help avoid any serious disruption to the running of the festival. this week-end.

“Full details on Camp Bestival Covid-19 entry requirements and applicable refund policy are available at www.campbestival.net. ”

Fatboy Slim, Becky Hill and Groove Armada headline the musical stages throughout the four-day event starting Thursday, July 29.

National data showed that in the most recent week, there are statistics for a record 618,903 alerts sent between July 8 and July 15 advising people to self-isolate.

As a result, it hit many industries, including the hospitality industry, hard with staff shortages.

The impact of which saw a restaurant in Bournemouth recently cancel 100 reservations due to the isolation of staff members.

Camp Bestival’s website details some of the conditions that make up their “robust plan” in an effort to ensure that no major disruption affects the event.

Festival participants will either need to provide proof of full vaccination, negative lateral flow test or natural immunity based on positive PCR test within 180 days of the festival.

Anyone who tests positive via a lateral flow test will not be allowed entry, but will be eligible for a refund.
