Customer angry with fallout from Monarch Airlines collapse

Monarch Airlines went into administration, with all flights and holidays canceled starting Monday, October 2.

While there are flights to bring stranded Britons abroad home, for those with vacations planned for the next few weeks, it has put in a huge boost – but you don’t need to despair and cancel your break for now.

First off, you might be entitled to compensation for your canceled flight, especially if your vacation is ATOL-protected – check out our full guide here.

For those who will be traveling in the coming weeks, there is also a silver lining. Currently, there are plenty of airlines offering fall sales and cheap itineraries, many of which cover destinations offered by Monarch.

This means you can still take cheap flights, which means you don’t have to break the bank to keep going on vacation.

Then, of course, there are the extensive airline networks covering the routes involved – easyJet and British Airways seem to offer the greatest choice when it comes to finding available seats.

We take a look at popular Monarch destinations and alternative airlines you can travel with on a budget …
