Michael Jacobson of the American Hotel Androsing Association said:

Chicago hotel revenues are down 59% from 2019 before the pandemic. New York is down 62% and San Francisco is down 70%.

A seaside city like Miami. Tampa; Virginia Beach, Va., Leads the pack in reversing the drop in income.

“What is still really missing are the individual business travelers who come to Chicago and, of course, the conventions,” Jacobson said. “But that will change soon.”

The change is expected to be celebrated at McCormick Place this weekend and Lollapalooza at the end of the month.
