Country snapshot: 62 hotel projects in the books in Poland [Infographic]
According to the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database, 62 new hotel projects are currently in preparation across Poland, with Hilton Garden Inn proving particularly active.
Our researchers report that 62 new hotels with 12,314 rooms are already under construction across Poland. We are learning more about these upcoming launches.
Hotel openings in Poland by year
35 projects are expected to be launched in 2021 and will bring 7,422 new rooms to the Polish market – nine of them are already in the pre-opening phase. 15 more openings are planned for 2022, followed by three more in 2023. For 2024 and beyond, nine projects have been in pencil to date.
In general, Polish hotel developers are clearly focused on four-star projects, which represent 50 of the 62 planned launches we have recorded. The other 12 are in the five-star sector.
Key brands are growing in Poland
Hilton Worldwide is driving the growth of the Polish market, with two of its brands among the most active in the country.
Hilton Garden Inn leads the overall standings with seven launches and 1,050 rooms, while Hampton by Hilton will open five hotels with 700 keys. The Accor Mercure Hotels brand is also in our top 3, thanks to its five options, representing 765 rooms in total.
The best hotel projects in Poland
The Mercure Kraków Fabryczna City, under construction on the site of a former distillery in the eastern part of Krakow, will be launched in the second quarter of 2021. This 100-room hotel is part of the Kraków Fabryczna City investment project, which includes the Fabryczna Office Park buildings, a residential area and two historic buildings which will be completely revitalized to house the Mercure hotel. The entire development will be BREEAM certified, highlighting the commitment to sustainable construction practices of the INTER-BUD developer and IMB architect Asymetria.
Halfway between Warsaw and Lodz, Ronson Development and Global City Holdings are working on the Park of Poland project. This lifestyle destination will include a water park, hotels with bungalows and cabana-style rooms, as well as a convention center. The 240-room Poland Park hotel will be the first property to open – with a launch date in Q3 2021 in pencil – offering 3,600m² of conference space, including a 1,150m² ballroom.
Finally, the 14-storey Crowne Plaza Kołobrzeg Resort is built by Baltic Wave Sp and Soletanche Polska just 200 meters from the beach in one of the most famous resorts in Poland. It will include approximately 468 condominium apartments as well as an infinity pool, indoor pool complex, wellness and spa area, observation bar and café, and restaurants. Due to its opening in the fourth quarter of 2021, the hotel will also include a conference room that can accommodate 500 people.
