Craig David Says Bo ‘Selecta’ Ruined His Life

Rapper Aitch has become an ambassador for a Down Syndrome charity in honor of his “inspiring” little sister.

The New Moston-born musician is the newest ambassador for Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA), a charity that works to enable people with Down syndrome to live “fullful and rewarding lives”.

It comes after Aitch donated part of the music video budget for his new track ‘My G’ – a song about his sister Gracie – to charity earlier this year.

He said “My G” was the most important track on his debut album, “Close to Home”, because there was “nothing more important in the world than Gracie”.

In his role as DSA Ambassador, Aitch will raise awareness of the work of the DSA and participate in events, while supporting fundraising efforts.

Aitch said: “My little sister Gracie is an inspiration to me and my family, so becoming an ambassador for Down’s Syndrome Association, DSA, the only charity in the UK dealing with all aspects of Down’s Syndrome from Down, means I can help raise the profile of the DSA globally and here in the UK, hoping to engage and educate more young people along the way.

“By representing the DSA, I hope I can make a difference for my sister and all other people with Down syndrome around the world, who have as much right to a fully inclusive life as the rest of us.

“I am excited to begin.”

Carol Boys, Managing Director of DSA, added: “We are delighted to welcome Aitch as our latest DSA Ambassador.

“He represents a powerful voice for the younger generation, and through his incredible music, awareness of the DSA and its work will be raised nationally and globally.

“On top of that, Aitch’s donations make a huge difference in our work supporting thousands of people with Down syndrome, their families and caregivers.

“So I would like to say a big thank you to Aitch for agreeing to join us, and to the team at Capitol Records UK/EMI for their support, we look forward to a long and rewarding relationship.”

Although this isn’t the first time the rapper has shown his generous side – over the summer, Aitch launched The Aitch-S2 initiative, which allowed hundreds of people to travel free by train to a variety of events across the country.
