“An NFT is a digital asset that can take the form of art, music, game items, videos and more,” the article published by Forbes said. “They’re bought and sold online, often with cryptocurrency, and they’re usually encoded with the same underlying software as many cryptos.”

The outlet stated that the cryptocurrency is a “decentralized digital currency”.

“Unlike the US dollar or the euro, there is no central authority that manages and maintains the value of a cryptocurrency”, Forbes said. “Instead, these tasks are widely distributed among users of a cryptocurrency via the Internet.”

Photos of the house show a modest exterior, but portraits of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, wallpapers of tweets and images of the bitcoin symbol featured inside.

Commenters on Instagram weren’t shy about sharing their thoughts in the comments section.

“Live Laugh Love: Crypto Bro Edition,” one Instagram user wrote.

“Looks like it was meant to be used for a reality TV show,” another user suggested.

“I don’t have money for this but will they accept NFTs,” one Instagram user joked.

Elle Levy, the owner of the house, said Newsweek that she just put the house on the market about two weeks ago, and that her main function was to serve Airbnb.

Levy said she got into cryptocurrency in 2017, which inspired the interior theme. It took about six months to a year to renovate the interior of the house according to the theme.

Although it’s currently on the market, Levy said the home is still available to book through Airbnb until it sells.

“The whole reason behind it was for people to have a place where they can film cool content in [Los Angeles]”said Levy.

She added that she plans to open short-term rentals across the country with different themes to check out and have “incredible content for their social media.”

While Levy said this home served her well and was a hit with renters, she said she was putting it on the market due to issues with neighbors.

However, this is not the end of the Crypto House – she said she plans to move it.

“I’m not closing the chapter on Crypto House, per se,” Levy said. “Right there.”

Other posts shared by Zillow Gone Wild also went viral, including a listing for a “literal tree house”, a house that featured a cameo by Halloween movie villain Michael Myers and a house that appears to have a first-class Delta airport lounge inside.
