Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks arrives at Manchester’s Palace Theater as part of world premiere tour

Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks are coming to Manchester next month.

The Oscar-winning film is making its world premiere as an exciting new musical and will visit the Palace Theater from October 19-24.

Families are invited to “step into a world of magic and fantasy” – following the story of the three orphaned children of Rawlins who are reluctantly evacuated from wartime London to live with the mysterious Miss Eglantine Price.

Upon discovering that she is a trainee witch, they join forces to search for a secret spell that will defeat the enemy once and for all.



It follows the story of Rawlins’ three orphaned children

Armed with an enchanted bed handle, a bewitched broomstick, and a magical flying bed, they meet surprising new friendships as they journey from Portobello Road to the depths of the magnificent brackish sea.

Featuring original songs from the legendary Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) including Portobello Road, The Age Of Not Believing, The Beautiful Briny and new music and lyrics by Neil Bartram and a book by Brian Hill , Bedknobs and Broomsticks is hosted by award-winning directors Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison.



It makes its world premiere as a new musical on stage

Dianne Pilkington, whose West End credits include Wretched, Bad, Mom Mia! and Mel Brooks’ young Frankenstein, will play the role of Miss Price and Charles Brunton, who played the iconic role of Miss Trunchbull in Mathilde both in the West End and on Broadway, will play Emelius Browne.
