Edinburgh man posts hilarious spoof ad for ‘Airbnb igloo’ in Pentland Hills

An Edinburgh man got stitches from locals this week after posting a slightly unusual Airbnb for rent.

In a comedic article online, Olly Stephenson only advertised a handmade igloo as a unique apartment available to rent for the bargain price of £ 65 per night.

The parody post saw the igloo rated at none other than 4.9 out of 5 stars, making it one of the most exclusive properties on the market.

Nestled in the middle of the Pentland Hills, the igloo built by Olly and her friends is large enough to accommodate two people, ideal for a country getaway.

Built by hand, the structure is quite impressive, the igloo providing quality shelter from the icy winds of the hills.

In an ironic twist, the spoof ad even has “comfy beds” and a “central location” listed as some of its ideal features.

To add to the effect, Olly even added a few joke reviews, describing it as “perfect, clean and comfortable” with another commenting on how “awesome stay” it was.

The announcement made a crowd of local residents laugh this morning

While clearly not a true Airbnb property, as sub-zero temperatures continue to sweep Edinburgh and the Lothians, the frozen dome can be useful for those walking around the area.

The igloo has since been appreciated by passers-by on their daily walks

Quite possibly one of the only places you’ll find a £ 65 per night room in Edinburgh, the joke was well received by many local residents.

One responded by saying “this is absolutely hilarious” while another said “I can’t believe you built this!”
