Elfingrove returns with Scotland’s largest outdoor ice rink

Events company itison has announced the return of Elfingrove – the 2019 show that attracted more than 175,000 people – with a new £ 2million show expected to create around 200 jobs in December.

Details of this year’s show are currently being kept under wraps, but the all-open-air show will take place along the banks of the River Kelvin, transforming the grounds of the Kelvingrove Museum.

One detail released now is the creation of Scotland’s largest outdoor ice skating experience, designed by the team behind ITV’s Dancing on Ice.

Itison’s Glasgow-based Managing Director Oli Norman said: “In October 2020 we were able to bring GlasGLOW to over 90,000 spectators, making it Scotland’s largest outdoor activity. the winter months as an impending lockdown loomed and created 160 jobs in the events industry.

“Now, as the creative sector aims to recover from anything but decimation, we are determined to rebuild in our hometown of Glasgow.

“We are making a significant investment in the return of Elfingrove, creating over 200 jobs in the industry, but more importantly, we aim to create a spectacular spectacle for locals and visitors that makes us proud to live where we are. let’s call our home. “

He continued: “In 2019 we hosted 175,000 people at Elfingrove – we did a lot of things right, but like a first year event, there were areas we needed to improve.

“We’ve listened to a lot of commentary and are back this year with a brand new show. “
