Fall River Chick-fil-A ready to begin serving South Coast

After months of anticipation, the last Chick-fil-A on the SouthCoast is officially ready to open.

You’ve probably seen construction going on at the SouthCoast Marketplace on William S. Canning Boulevard since winter and wondered when all the amazing chicken nuggets and waffle fries would arrive. Well, that wait is finally over.

Chick-fil-A announced on June 29 that after some “unforeseen issues”, the Fall River restaurant would open on Wednesday, July 6, with multi-lane drive-thru, contactless ordering and payment through the Chick -fil- An app.

But let’s be honest, no matter how many lanes the Chick-fil-A Fall River drive-thru has to offer, there will be a queue at the last SouthCoast location for weeks. I’m pretty sure there are still lines to Seekonk and Warwick, Rhode Island to this day and they’ve both been open for years now.

People love Chick-fil-A and locals in the Fall River area seem thrilled with the news. Hours after the opening date was announced on Facebook, comments and likes were quickly piling up.

Locally owned and operated by Julie Gallagher, Chick-fil-A Fall River will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and, of course, will remain closed on Sundays. All chain restaurants are closed on Sundays.

Gallagher said in a company press release that she was “humbled by this opportunity to create a positive and welcoming dining experience through this new restaurant, and I look forward to immersing myself in the Fall River community.” “.

Don’t pull out your tents yet. Chick-fil-A’s first post-pandemic South Coast opening is going to be a little different. Rather than offering the first 100 online guests Chick-fil-A free for a year, Chick-fil-A Fall River will instead recognize 100 local heroes making an impact in the Fall River area and provide their with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.

When I first spoke with the representatives of Chick-fil-A back in februarythey told me this means that first responders, teachers, and others who make a difference in the community are usually chosen and the franchise operator will make the final decision.

No official announcement on who will get the free food connection next week, but I’m sure Chick-fil-A Fall River will be sharing more on Facebook closer to their opening day. For now, we can all look forward to the arrival of SouthCoast’s brand new Chick-fil-A opening in Fall River on Wednesday July 6th.

New restaurants are opening all the time, but what about some of your favorites that have closed forever? Remember them here

The South Coast is home to many great restaurants, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t be sad for some of those who left us too soon. See how much you remember of New Bedford, Dartmouth, Middleboro and Fairhaven.
