Heartbreak as Leeds man hit in devastating e-bike crash dies two weeks later

Police have confirmed that a man has died in hospital after being injured in an e-bike accident.

Vincent Cullinane, 51, from Leeds, was seriously injured in an accident on East Street on April 21. He was riding a pedal bike when he collided with a teenager on an e-bike around 5.45pm.

Tragically, he suffered serious injuries from which he never recovered. He died in hospital on Tuesday May 10.

The driver of the e-bike was slightly injured. The police are now investigating.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following the death in hospital of a man who was seriously injured in a road crash in Leeds.

“Vincent Cullinane, who was 51 and from Leeds, was riding a black Boardman pedal bicycle which was involved in a collision with a blue Carrera electronically assisted pedal bicycle in East Street at around 5.45pm on April 21.

“He suffered serious injuries from which he never recovered and died on Tuesday May 10. The rider of the other bike, a 19-year-old man, suffered a minor leg injury.

“The collision is currently being investigated by the Major Collision Investigation Team, who are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed it, or in the times leading up to it.
