Here’s when popular Ontario ski hills open for the season

It’s almost ski season and that means ski resorts across Ontario are about to welcome the public back to the slopes.

Popular Ontario ski resorts including Blue Mountain, Horseshoe Valley, Calabogie Peaks and more have announced their plans for the 2022-23 season, and opening day is sooner than you might expect. think!

Blue Mountain plans to hold its opening night this Thursday, December 8. If time permits, of course.

Last year, Blue Mountain opened on December 10 and didn’t close for the season until April 18, so we’re hoping for another long ski season this time around.

“Keep your frosty fingers crossed for more white stuff as we ramp up another great season,” Blue Mountain said in its announcement.

The estimated opening date for the Horseshoe Resort slopes is December 11, but may vary slightly depending on weather conditions and snowfall.

As for Calabogie Peaks, the scheduled opening date for the season is December 10, 2022.

Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Resort in Muskoka will host its opening weekend a little later than the others, Dec. 16-18.

Meanwhile, Mont Tremblant in Quebec has been open since November 24, and Porter Airlines offers flights between Toronto and Tremblant throughout the ski season.
