Have you ever wanted to try tobogganing down the stairs like Kevin did in the movie? Well, here’s your chance.
CHICAGO — Pack up your American Dental Association-approved toothbrush and get ready for an experience that would have your 8-year-old jumping on your parents’ bed.
The famed house from the classic Christmas movie ‘Home Alone’ will be available to rent for just one day later this month, allowing four guests to relive their favorite scenes from the movie in real life.
“Buzz” himself posted the McCallister house in suburban Chicago on Airbnb.
“You may not remember me as particularly accommodating,” Buzz said in a Airbnb press release. “But I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let go of my tarantula, Axl, this time.
The display is part of a marketing campaign for the latest installment in the “Home Alone” franchise, “Home Sweet Home Alone”, which is streaming on Disney+. Although it’s a marketing ploy, it’s a real listing for the real home of the original film, with a fully immersive experience for fans.

Among the features of the house are “traps galore” that you can have fun with – no need to worry about wet bandits intruding. For dinner, guests can enjoy a super nutritious microwave mac and cheese dinner or a nice cheese pizza, just for you.
Airbnb has shared this comprehensive list of experiences for guests to enjoy:
- A cozy holiday scene with twinkling lights and a perfectly trimmed tree to celebrate the season.
- Traps galore (but don’t worry, you’ll set them, not go around them!).
- Surprisingly hot splashes of aftershave and plenty of opportunities to scream in the mirror.
- All the ’90s favorites they want, including the best pizza in Chicago and a candlelight dinner of Kraft Microwave Macaroni and Cheese.
- An encounter with a real tarantula.
- A screening of the film franchise’s new holiday adventure, Home Sweet Home Alone.
- A LEGO Ideas Home Alone set to take home and build.
This is not a contest or a giveaway. The selected person must pay for their stay, but it’s only $25 plus taxes and fees.
The house will only be available for booking for up to four people on December 12. Those interested in eating junk food and looking at the trash in the McCallister house can apply to book their stay starting Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. central time.
