Hungarian Parliament standardizes star rating of accommodation
The Hungarian Parliament adopted a modification of the Tourism Law Tuesday. The amendment brings many changes but above all the unification of the star rating system.
In the new system, each accommodation will be rated with a number of stars from 1 to 5. All other types of symbols will be omitted. The new schedule will be enacted in January 2022. This means that tourists will have a clear idea of what to expect when choosing between hotels and other accommodation.
Another aspect of the amendment is the development of the already existing National Tourist Information Center. From now on, other hospitality services and tourist attractions will also be included in the system.
“This will contribute to the development of Hungarian tourism with Hungary’s most comprehensive real-time big data portfolio, enabling the launch of targeted marketing and sales campaigns” declared the Hungarian Tourism Agency. Therefore, those looking for possible tourist destinations will now be able to find many more opportunities in this area.
Finally, it will be possible to give the colonies a title of particular importance in order to “continue to develop them and become even more important in marketing and sales activities”.
