IHG Hotels & Resorts announces the signing of Triple Thailand with long-time partner Asset World Corporation

Three properties in Bangkok and Pattaya strengthen strategic agreement to jointly develop more than 1,200 rooms

IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is proud to announce the signing of three hotels in Thailand with its long-time partner Asset World Corporation (AWC), the premier integrated lifestyle real estate group in the country.

The multi-property deal includes the new-build InterContinental Bangkok Chinatown – the first luxury hotel development in the region – and two other projects in Chinatown and Pattaya, totaling 629 rooms.

Scheduled to open in 2027, the 332-room InterContinental Bangkok Chinatown will be located in a vibrant mixed-use development in the historic Verngnakornkhasem district. It will include two hotels, residences and a shopping center, including a 24-hour food court on Charoen Krung Road.

Blending the brand’s worldwide fame with the wonders of local culture, the hotel will feature three restaurants and bars, as well as a swimming pool, fitness center and expansive 1,400 square meter event and meeting space. supplemented by eight private rooms.

The mixed-use development will also include the second property under the deal – a 63-room lifestyle boutique hotel, converted from traditional four-story boutiques to provide a stylish and authentic stay for visitors to the “Asian Heritage City”.

Visitors will be spoiled for choice as they enjoy Bangkok’s largest number of underground outlets, a heritage promenade and an entertainment boulevard with space for festive celebrations and cultural performances. A new historical and cultural attraction – “The Golden Pagoda” – is underway, as well as the construction of a gateway to welcome people to the inspiring destination for history and culture.

A short drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport, the development is located near popular tourist attractions such as the Grand Palace, the shopping district, Sathorn and Silom. It will be part of the transformation of Verngnakornkhasem and will ensure its status as a “must-see” destination.

Another boutique hotel under the agreement – will open in Pattaya in early 2024. Located in the Aquatic District, Pattaya’s premier iconic destination, it will be at the heart of a large lifestyle and entertainment complex including hotels, shops, restaurants and conventions. the spaces. With 234 rooms and suites, the hotel will also include restaurants, a rooftop bar, swimming pool, spa and meeting rooms of over 670 square meters.

The triple signing is part of a long-standing partnership between IHG and AWC to manage a portfolio of properties offering more than 1,200 rooms across Thailand, including the 306-room InterContinental Chiang Mai Mae Ping which will open in 2022.

IHG and AWC are also exploring opportunities for the Kimpton brand, a designer luxury boutique hotel with award-winning restaurants and bars, and genuine service at major resort destinations in Thailand.
