IPG appoints Mat Baxter CEO of Huge
New York, NY, June 24, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) announced today that it has appointed Mat Baxter as Global Managing Director of Huge, one of the most innovative companies in the marketing industry. In this new role, Baxter will lead an organization of more than 1,200 people in a dozen markets and build on Huge’s strength as a global experience agency, anchored in a user-centric digital design that delivers unified brand experiences across a range of emerging media channels. Huge is known for its strong creativity, deep experience in technology, data and business strategy.
On a related note, Raj Singhal, who has served as Huge’s interim global CEO since 2020, after joining the agency as global chief financial officer in 2013 and taking on additional responsibilities as chief executive officer. operations in 2017, will evolve into a management position in a global network within IPG. Singhal’s promotion will be announced in the coming weeks.

Since March 2021, Baxter has served as President of the IPG Initiative; prior to this role, Mat led the media company for five years as global CEO. Around this time, Initiative was named a global media agency for leading brands such as Amazon, LEGO, Converse, and Carlsberg, and won numerous industry accolades. An industry veteran, Mat was a co-founder of Naked Communications and also previously served as CEO of UM Australia. Mat has served on the board of directors of the International Advertising Association (IAA), the Media Federation of Australia (MFA) and chairman of the Cannes Young Lions Competition.
The appointment of the new global CEO comes after Huge performed very well in the first half of 2021, with exceptional organic growth and strong recognition for his work at the world’s largest creative awards. Huge continued to develop its network-wide capabilities with the expansion of its APAC presence in the Tokyo market; the network launched a new matrix global trading practice; and strengthened its global leadership with the recent appointment of Kali Beyah as Chief Talent Officer of the agency.
