Ja Morant’s Buzzer-Beater is now the NBA’s most viewed Instagram video

Monday night’s Spurs-Grizzlies game broke a major record for the official NBA Instagram account.

A clip of Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant hitting a buzzer to end the second quarter has received 42.1 million video views on Instagram, the official NBA Communications Twitter account unveiled on Wednesdaymaking it the most viewed NBA Instagram video of all time.

Morant dropped a career-high 52 points in a win over the San Antonio Spurs, and social media engagement numbers prove the 22-year-old had a scorching performance.

Morant’s content from Monday’s game has amassed more than 80 million views on NBA social accounts, part of the 385 million views he has received on NBA social assets since the start of the season. which earned him the title of third most-watched player behind Steph Curry. and LeBron James.

Social media statistics are as impressive as any other set of statistics.

So far this season, the 2020 Rookie of the Year is averaging 27.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game while shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 34.3 % over the 3-point range.
