Leeds man, 50, charged after man was found stabbed in Whinmoor alley

A man is due in court today for being stabbed in Leeds.

Darren Winstanley, 50, of Seacroft, has been charged with section 18 intentional injury.

The charges relate to an incident on Sunday, June 13, when a 52-year-old man was found in an alley off Hebden Green in Whinmoor with multiple stab wounds and serious neck injuries.

He is due to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court today.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed on Monday (06/21) that Mr Winstanley had been arrested.

A West Yorkshire Police statement on Monday said: “A man who has been the subject of a wanted person call for stabbing in Leeds has been arrested.

“Darren Winstanley, 50, of Seacroft, was arrested last night in connection with an incident on Sunday, June 13, which resulted in the discovery of a 52-year-old man in an alley off Hebden Green, Whinmoor, with multiple stab wounds.

“He remains in detention for the moment.

“A 33-year-old man who was arrested Thursday last week in connection with the same incident remains on bail by police.”
