List of the best Airbnbs in Scotland includes West Coast ‘waterfall retreat’

Want to dive into a little retreat but don’t want to go too far when the weather is so nice?

Here is just the thing. Conde Nast Traveler have put together a guide to all the best Airbnbs in Scotland, and this beautiful location in Ayrshire is the closest to Glasgow.

The Waterfall Retreat in North Ayrshire is on their formidable nationwide list and is the closest to Glasgow, just 15 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes from the city centre.

They say it’s best for a “quiet stay” a stone’s throw from town with its own private waterfall.

Author Lauren Burvill says: “This stone house was originally a working mill dating back to the 16th century. Today it’s a standout Airbnb near Glasgow thanks to its own private waterfall and pond, which you can even admire without getting out of bed.

You can explore the private waterfall.

“Have your morning coffee on the balcony and keep your eyes peeled for woodpeckers or deer in the gardens. Venture further afield to find a flowing river and seating overlooking the Roebank Burn.”

The bathroom has a beautiful original cast iron tub that once featured in the TV series Dr Finlay’s Casebook.

Interestingly, it is also a vegetarian and shoeless house. The Airbnb costs £149 a night and sleeps four.
