Lytham Festival 2022 in pictures Simply Red impresses thousands in week 2

Simply Red wowed thousands as they took to the stage to perform at Lytham Festival on Wednesday July 6th. The group is perhaps best known for their hits, including Holding Back The Years and If You Don’t Know Me By Now.

They took the stage in front of a huge crowd to mark the start of the second part of the annual event. The first part of the festival started on June 28 and saw performances from acts such as Lewis Capaldi and Diana Ross.

Part two of the event was kicked off on Wednesday by Simply Red and will continue with a performance by Elbow tonight, backed by Richard Hawley and Badly Drawn Boy.

Simply Red impressed the crowds who could be seen smiling and enjoying the atmosphere in the crowd with friends. They were supported by West End ace Marisha Wallace who opened the show and was special guest Lisa Stansfield.

The schedule for the rest of Lytham Festival is:

  • Thursday 7: Elbow Special Guest: Richard Hawley, Badly Drawn Boy
  • Friday 8: The Strokes, Fontaines DC, Wet Leg, The Lounge Society
  • Saturday 9: Tears for Fears, Special guest: Alison Moyet, Natalie Imbruglia
  • Sunday 10: Paul Weller, The Charlatans, Lottery Winners, Nia Wyn.

Over the years, the headliners have varied wildly over the years. Acts have ranged from Billy Ocean, Tom Jones, Faithless, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds to Bryan Adams.

People come from far and wide to enjoy the festival, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019. This year, Gogglebox’s Sophie Sandiford was spotted at the festival with her brother Pete and his wife, along with a few friends.
