Marshall ‘Wonderland of Lights’ opening hours are changing

The holidays (that is, between Thanksgiving and Christmas) are for many the most wonderful time of the year. We put decorations and lights on our homes and love to spend time with our loved ones. For many people in East Texas that also means stopping in Marshall for their ‘Wonderland of Lights’, but some changes will be made this year.

The City of Marshall posted online that they are once again delighted to welcome families from all over to enjoy the festival while also contributing money to the community. But after seeing years of declining sponsorship funds and volunteers, they had to make some changes. They hope that with some changes to the schedule, it will help increase community participation.

Marshall City ‘Wonderland of Lights’ opening hours in 2021:

Open from Saturday November 27 to Thursday December 23.

Thursday to Saturday: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday: 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Wonderland of Lights will be closed on Mondays for maintenance.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be reserved for private rentals with the exception of December 21 to December 23 which will remain open to the public.

Marshall’s downtown lights will stay on until January

Lights hung in downtown Marshall will stay on until early January. The community should expect to see the traditional lighting ceremony, the illuminated Christmas parade, the Wassail March and even a screening of The Grinch at Memorial Town Hall.

If you want to volunteer this year there are plenty of openings, for more information call (903) 702-7777.
