Martin Compston’s “I’m fae Greenock” Returns as Friends Guess His Favorite Cocktail
Martin Compston may have risen to fame with his role in the mega-hit Line of Duty, but the actor has proven he hasn’t given up on his West Coast roots.
A bar worker in Edinburgh said the star of the BBC series hilariously replied, “I’m fae Greenock”, after fans tried to send him cocktails last night on his birthday.
Martin stepped out in the capital’s Rose Street Garden on Saturday night with friends to celebrate his 37th birthday, Edinburgh Live reports.
And while we have to wonder why he didn’t go for a (superior) night out in Glasgow, his answer definitely proves that he hasn’t abandoned us for the east coast.

According to the bar clerk, a group of fans wanted to impress the star, so they Google searched for her favorite drink and came to the conclusion that it was a cosmopolitan drink.
But after sending the drinks to the star, he reportedly replied, “How would that be my drink, I’m fae Greenock, I can even spell cosmopolitan.”
Sharing the story on Twitter, local Chloe said: “Martin Compston was in my day job and these girls googled his favorite drink to send him n google said he was a cosmopolitan and he was like ‘how would be- this my drink i “m fae greenock, i can even spell cosmopolitan ‘.”
The worker took a photo with actor who plays DS Steve Arnott, calling him “an absolute gem of a guy.”
She added: “I would like to point out that he was always very grateful for them n was just laughing and buying drinks for several different tables n was taking pictures with people all night long n is really a lovely guy n was lovely with all the anaw staff. “
According to the bar clerk, Martin and his table “were on rums and vodka martinis” all night.
Well we hope you enjoyed your night out, Martin, but next time make sure you enjoy your night out in Scotland’s funniest town!
