McCann London hires second Chief Strategy Officer
McCann London has tapped a former Saatchi & Saatchi London planner to partner with its chief strategy officer Lee Ramsay.
Nusara Chinnaphasaen left Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam, where she was director of global planning, after six years to take on the role of co-head of strategy.
McCann London chief executive Polly McMorrow said the hiring “completes the line of direction” of the “wonderfully diverse and discipline-independent” strategy department, which is headed by chief strategy officer Theo Izzard-Brown. .
Chinnaphasaen has worked for clients such as P&G, Uber, Google, Airbnb and Visa over his 20 year career. Born in Bangkok, she is proud to be Thai and has worked in five countries on three continents, including a stint at Cramer-Krasselt New York.
Chinnaphasaen said, “I want to bring inspiration and clarity to help brands navigate complexity in these fragile times. I look forward to partnering with Lee and being part of a strong team led by an empathetic leadership style.
Ramsay has been in charge of strategy since his promotion last year, having joined the agency in 2020 from Wieden & Kennedy London, where he led the communications planning practice for brands including Nike, Sainsbury’s and the Formula 1.
Ramsay said: “It has been noted by many, I’m sure, but a planner’s job is changing rapidly. Planners need to be comfortable with everything from a client’s data strategy to their dynamic creative ambitions – that means we need to continue to build a team accordingly. Nusara and I share this passion, and I am thrilled to partner with her on this journey.
