McCann Worldgroup launches sustainable development department

Jaclyn Kaminski appointed Global Director of Sustainability

NEW YORK, July 8, 2021 / PRNewswire / – McCann Worldgroup has launched a Sustainability Department to commit resources and advance the network’s sustainability agenda.

Jaclyn Kaminski appointed Global Sustainability Director, McCann Worldgroup

The agency announced that Jaclyn Kaminski, Director of Business Leadership at McCann London, has been appointed to the newly created role of Global Director of Sustainability and will lead the department. Kaminski brings with her a vast expertise, in particular by co-managing the Global Sustainability department of the agency. She has received several corporate sustainability certificates at Cambridge University, United Kingdom, including a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability Leadership.

Kaminski will be responsible for integrating sustainability into McCann Worldgroup’s business strategy, operations and global culture, creating sustainable organizational change and management. His mandate includes leading McCann Worldgroup’s Net Zero transition, developing an internal sustainability education strategy, a global partnership strategy, managing the network carbon footprint analysis and customer engagement.

The announcement follows a global memo to the entire McCann Worldgroup network from the President and CEO Bill kolb, who wrote that sustainability is one of the business imperatives of the agency network and is critical to the network’s future growth.

Kolb announced that McCann Worldgroup will commit to becoming a net zero emissions company by 2040.

“We are well beyond the stage where we can talk about being a more responsible corporate citizen when it comes to sustainability – we need to take action. And we are,” Kolb said. “I am delighted to announce our new sustainability department within McCann Worldgroup. Sustainability across the network is essential to our future growth – for our customers, our communities, our employees and our partners.

Kolb added: “The decisions we make now will determine the course of the next 30 years and beyond. Therefore, as a first step, we carried out an analysis of the global carbon footprint. These lessons will inform our first phase of global commitments to sustainable development and carbon reduction. We are also committed, along with many of our customer partners, to achieving Net Zero. And we are committed to establishing and achieving scientific goals.

Nannette Lafond-Dufour, President, Global Clients and Business Leadership at McCann Worldgroup, will work with Kaminski to establish and develop sustainability partnerships with each of McCann Worldgroup’s clients. “We want to exchange knowledge and expertise on achieving sustainable development goals with all of our clients, and also ensure that all the work we do with our client partners respects our common sustainability plans,” said declared Lafond-Dufour.

Kaminski led McCann Worldgroup’s first global carbon footprint analysis to ensure that all McCann Worldgroup employees understand the impact of the network as a business on the planet. This carbon footprint analysis will enable McCann Worldgroup to reduce its emissions in the future and make the necessary progress to achieve its Net Zero commitment.

“I am delighted and honored by the confidence McCann Worldgroup has placed in me by appointing me to this very important position,” said Kaminski. “McCann Worldgroup is an engaged member of the global community and that means we have a moral imperative to behave as active and progressive corporate citizens in the fight against climate change. And that means each of us, as a ’employees and partners of McCann Global Group. “

A key element of the network’s sustainability strategy is the focus on educating and engaging the more than 20,000 members of the McCann Worldgroup network on the way forward in the sustainability agenda. Kaminski will work with network leaders to create programs that work at the global, regional, local and desk-to-desk levels to ensure that every McCann Worldgroup employee is a committed stakeholder and accountable for the progress of the network.

In addition, McCann Worldgroup works closely on sustainability with its parent company, the Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG). In June, the CEO of IPG Philippe Krakow announced that IPG is taking three major actions on climate change, including setting a science-based target, supplying 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and a commitment to achieve zero carbon on the planet. entire IPG network by 2040.
