BARRY COUNTY, Missouri (KSNF/KODE) – It seems that real treehouses are popping up all over the country (and even the world), as most of them are built with the intention of becoming vacation rentals. People love these romantic high-rise getaways for their unique locations and overall designs, giving visitors a different option when it comes to travel and accommodation. But there is one treehouse that would be in a league of its own: “The Getaway Treehouse.”

The Getaway Cabin in the Trees was built on several tall trees inside 10 acres of woods. It is located in the Missouri Ozarksnear the town of cassville (Rural Southwest Missouri). When it comes to this high-rise getaway, its isolation is a big reason for its popularity with guests.

This Ozarks treehouse sits 12 feet above the forest floor and was built on seven different trees that support and stabilize the entire structure. According to the owners, Michael and Brandy DeShon, real treehouses are built to move with the trees. As this is a true tree house, guests can expect to feel and hear movement, especially when winds exceed 20 mph.

This high-rise charter features a luxurious 600 square foot master stateroom – comparable to a “Little house.” The cabin is one bedroom, making it a great place for a weekend getaway. If you’re trying to book a family vacation, be aware that no children under the age of eight are allowed. There are two twin beds in the loft and a queen sleeper sofa in the downstairs suite. The loft windows offer a beautiful view of the sunset.

A private hot tub is connected to the square-shaped cabin by a hillside bridge. It includes a hot tub and windows that allow you to enjoy the beautiful view surrounding the property. Even though The Getaway Treehouse is made up of two dwellings, the entire structure is considered one tree house.
