A celebration of people. (Pat Byington / Bham Now)

Located opposite the Birmingham Crossplex on the side of the shoe time and Refresh clothes at 5 Points West Shopping City, it’s Birmingham’s newest mural. Dewon Moton wanted his mural to feature talented Alabama athletes and community leaders in honor of the 2022 World Games. On this mural, he artistically experimented with spray cans and vibrant colors, flooding the white wall of his art.

Here are some of the people depicted in this fresco:

  • Deontay Wilder—professional boxer from Tuscaloosa
  • Britney Griner—professional basketball player currently detained by Russian customs
  • Charles Barkley—former Leeds professional basketball player
  • Jesse Owens—an American track and field athlete with four Olympic gold medals from Oakville
