New Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise Defines Meaning of ‘Getaway’
If your vacation never seems long enough, the all-new Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise might be the thing to scratch that itch.
The company this week announced the extravagant 274-day vacation package, which features more than 60 countries and 150 destinations, including 11 Great Wonders of the World. Navigate the Serenade of the Seas, the cruise is scheduled to depart Miami on December 10, 2023 and run through September 10, 2024. Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley calls it “the world cruise of global cruises,” saying that ‘it is for those who want to make up for lost time and travel the world.
A Royal Caribbean representative told Yahoo Finance that the cruise’s premium rooms, which cost $ 111,999 per person, are already sold out. Seats are still available on the balconies and under the deck for $ 64,165 per person. Cost includes business class airfare, premium transportation to and from the ship, and accommodation in a five-star hotel before setting out to sea. Platinum members of the Crown & Anchor Society also get complimentary drinks, Wi-Fi, laundry service and much more. All guests aged 12 and over must also present proof of vaccination against Covid to embark.
While the idea of escaping everyday life for so long might appeal to some people, others weren’t so sure about the idea of seclusion on a cruise ship for almost a year for an unresolved global pandemic.
Others worried less about the risk of contracting COVID and more about the price to pay.
But despite the dangers, some were willing to throw caution to the wind for the experience of a lifetime.
