Nobu Hotel will open its doors in Madrid’s new Golden Mile in 2023

Nobu Hotel Madrid will be the group’s fifth opening in Spain following the success of Nobu Marbella in Puente Romano, the epicenter of Marbella’s gastronomy and hedonism in the heart of the city. This follows the Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, in a privileged enclave of the island run by an impeccable team; and Nobu Barcelona, which was forced to close shortly after opening due to the pandemic and has just come back strong after chef Sergio Martínez joined the team.

And then there’s the highly anticipated Nobu Hotel San Sebastián, which was announced to open last December and, as in the case of Madrid, is also part of the Millenium Hospitality Real Estate portfolio. The establishment, which is scheduled to open in March 2023, will have 20 rooms and suites and a restaurant overlooking the magnificent bay of San Sebastian.

On the other hand, the arrival of Nobu in Madrid adds to the endless stream of projects in the capital that promises to make headlines in the hotel sector. Millenium Hospitality Real Estate has been working for months to bring the first JW Marriott to Spain. In addition, the Paraguas Group and its partner, the Turkish Dogus Group, have already installed the scaffolding of what is undoubtedly Madrid’s most emblematic building, Metropolis, at the junction of Gran Vía and Alcalá, to inaugurate a luxury hotel concept with classy gastronomy (of course), a private club and a spa. Although its owners have not yet confirmed it, everyone expects, we Madridians hope, that it will be called Hotel Metropolis.

2023 will also see the opening, we will also see the opening of the Brach Hotel designed by Philippe Starck, next to the revolutionary concept store – WOW again on Gran Vía.

The Thomson Hotelon Calle Montera will open its doors in July if all goes well and under the gastronomic direction of Nino Redruello of Fismuler, aims to become a very modern meeting point of this new Madrid. The final opening date for the Teatro Albéniz hotel (just behind Puerta del Sol) is still up in the air following Iberostar’s departure from the project. The hotel is nearing completion with a plan for 155 rooms and a vision to restore the historic theater and the magnificent building that houses it.
