Opening of a new vehicle ramp at Eppley Airfield Garage

Next year, the Omaha Airports Authority will launch a $600 million effort to modernize Eppley Airfield’s main terminal, which hasn’t seen major layout changes since it was built in the mid-1980s. .



A new vehicle ramp leading to a premium parking area in the South Garage at Eppley Airfield is now open, the Omaha Airport Authority announced Tuesday.

The ramp will lead from the road to the parking area on the third level of the garage. The premium parking area has been moved from the first level of the south garage.

Air-conditioned walkways connect the car park level to the terminal.

The new ramp and parking level are part of two projects that will improve the road to the airport and renovate the south garage. Together, these projects will cost $28.6 million. The airport authority expects them to be completed by the end of the year.

The airport authority said both projects will improve capacity, efficiency, safety and security at Eppley.

The works are part of a series of construction projects at Eppley which will culminate in a $600 million multi-year project modernize the airport’s main terminal.
