Indy Pride Virtual Festival 2021

June 12

While the streets of downtown Indy may not be inundated by the typical rainbow sea in June due to the pandemic, Indy is celebrating Pride Month nonetheless. This signature event will be held virtually for the second year in a row via Zoom and Twitch. Watch live performances by artists such as Pat Yo Weave and shop at businesses across the city supporting LGBTQ + through the festival’s interactive map, where you can also explore LGBTQ + resources and chat with other attendees. Indy Pride hopes to host an in-person festival in the fall, but for now, tune in for a 2021-style celebration.

Pride evening at the drive-in

June 11

While the pride festival itself takes place online, Indy Pride has also found ways for Hoosiers to meet in person safely. Grab some friends and a bag of popcorn and get comfortable in your car at Tibbs Drive-In for family dual functionality. Cruel and Raya and the last dragon, the two new films. Rain or shine, the show will continue in honor of Pride Month.

Baby’s Pride Drag Brunch

June 13

What better place for a drag brunch than an old drag bar? Indulge in a three-course meal while savoring performances by some of Talbott Street nightclub legends at Baby’s Pride Drag Brunch. Three performances for all ages will take place during the day (10 a.m., noon and 4 p.m.), with a show for those 21 and over in the evening (9 p.m.). Get ready to feast on loaded toddlers, chicken waffles, and famous milkshakes (which can also be spiked up for an adult milkshake). The vibrant atmosphere of this Herron-Morton hangout makes it the perfect place to celebrate pride. Tickets for this event sell out often, but there is a waiting list.

Pride Block Party and Stonewall Party in downtown Olly’s

June 11 and 26

One of Indy’s best-known LGBTQ + friendly venues, Downtown Olly’s, hosts its annual Pride Block Party in its brand new outdoor space. The 21+ event features a live performance by local band Audiodacity to kick off the club’s summer concert series. A few weeks later, Olly’s is hosting a Stonewall Party to celebrate the origins of Pride Month by honoring those who spoke out during the Stonewall Riots of 1969. Both parties will feature great food, cheap drinks and games. .

Bright colors and bold patterns by American Lives Theater at Play Ground at IndyFringe

June 11-12 and 18-19

After receiving a wedding invitation stating to “refrain from wearing bright colors and bold patterns,” Gerry explores gay identity and other subjects in a comic fashion in this one-man show. Presented by American Lives Theater, the outdoor show takes place at the Play Ground in IndyFringe. This official Indy Pride event will take place four times this month with Indy actor Jay Hemphill. With the theater returning to the city as the pandemic slows down, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to laugh and celebrate the pride.

Melody Inn Night Punk Rock Pride Show

June 12

Indy’s Punk Rock Night takes pride in one of the city’s oldest live music staples, Melody Inn. Put on your leather jacket, add a little rainbow, and play late into the night with local bands all featuring at least one member of the LGBTQ + community. You can also leave your house with the performances being broadcast live on the Melody website. PRN Pride is the perfect event to be strong and proud of this month.
