Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi reunited for ‘Paranoid’ at Birmingham Commonwealth Games [Videos]
The 2022 commonwealth games in Birmingham, England, came to a fiery conclusion on Monday with a meeting of black sabbathit is Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi. The respective singer and guitarist delivered a surprise performance of “Paranoid” to close out the British multi-sports competition in the hometown of heavy metal’s forefathers.
The Prince of Darkness made his presence known by bellowing “I am Iron Man” from backstage as Iommi alongside the bassist Adam Wakeman and drummer Tommy Clufetos-who played on Sabbath’s 2016-17 The end farewell tour – teased “Iron Man”. As Ozzy emerged onto the stage on an elevated platform, Iommi launched into the iconic heavy metal-defining riff of “Paranoid.” Osbourne’s voice rang out loud as it echoed around the stadium above the roar of fireworks, Ozzy punctuating the performance by shouting “Birmingham forever!”

Monday’s appearance marked Ozzy Osbourne’s first time on stage since 2019 when he joined Post Malone on their collaboration, “Take What You Want”, at American Music Awards. Before that, his last full performance was on New Year’s Eve in 2018, by rolling stone.
